So sad to see the last of the peonies--this bouquet went to my niece in Utah to celebrate her wedding. The bouquet got to go, but I did not--who has a wedding on a Tuesday in the middle of the afternoon! On a Tuesday--seriously--what a bummer.
Okay, what is with this weather!! I love a mild climate but these cool cloudy days are killing me--and slowing the farm way down. Quantities of some of our sun loving flowers is limited, apologies again but there is not a lot we can do about the weather.
Here is the visual companion to this week's availability list. Orders have been heavy, thank you very much, so some of the varieties have already sold out. Apologies for that--come on summer.
Well...the big news is we have had a big week, high demand--thank you all so very much--and very cool temperatures for June...so we are very low on flowers. We will have more varieties as the week progresses so please call and look carefully on the truck. We decided it was best if we only posted flowers that we have in abundance so as not to disappoint anyone and we do have some fun, funky things. Check out the choke cherry branches below. Glossy green leaves on branches with clusters of shiny green berries. Poppy pods with their maroon to brown, sometimes velvety heads and green wizard are way cool too. Thank goodness for the campanulas that are blooming right now. We have three cousins--Peach leaf bell flower in blue, Canterbury bells in blue and Glomerata, aka clustered bell flower in purple and white.
RT is harvesting a new crop of snaps and they are fantastic in white, peach, pink, raspberry and deep rich burgundy. The scabiosa is perfect right now and we have a good supply of white and blue.
There are many perennials just around the corner and if the weather continues to warm we will have lots of pretty blooms on the truck.
Peonies are the big story this week. They just started to bloom ten days ago and the coral and magenta peonies are already gone--cut, sold, delivered! Holy cow. The good news is we have an abundance of gorgeous pinks, from palest blush to deep pink and the most beautiful whites ever.
The truck are full, full, full--so full we needed two trucks in Jackson. The perennials continue strong and some of the annuals are beginning to bloom as well. Lots of exciting new blooms to work with. The delphinium this year are so beautiful, big fat stems loaded with blossoms--and the colors so rich they make me swoon. I have everything photographed below in alphabetical order. Just run your cursor over the image if you are not sure what it is and a caption will appear. Also, check your fax and email availability for prices and quantities and get your orders in early. Ha un buon weekend--have a good weekend!
Purple is my favorite color--what more can I say. It delights and tickles my senses--it blows my mind.
So if you saw the truck this week you know that Bindweed is in full production--we have annuals, perennials and woodies. There is something new coming into bloom EVERY day--so exciting. We have updated the availability list three times this week and there will be new varieties before deliveries this week. I will try to keep the newest blooms near the front of the truck so you can find them!
