Imagine this: Clear August evening, not too hot, no wind, clear skies, beautiful table, something delicious on the grill, glass of wine. I wish! In my dreams! It has been hot and dry with high winds bringing all the smoke from the west. I did throw this bouquet together early the other morning and took some amazing photos of our harvest this week--then I lost them all in an upload snafu--my fault. So this morning I threw this out on the deck before running out to put orders together so at least I could post a few photos. My apologies--again. If you glance over last week's post, with a few exceptions, we have the same availability.
Oh my, sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug...
I took this photo for all of you that have ever wondered what it looked like the day before deliveries at Bindweed. I like to refer to it as controlled chaos. It takes hours and hours to get every order filled and in it's proper bucket, labeled, collared and ready to go. We have to work quickly because it is a race against the heat. We have a big barn that keeps the orders in the shade but they must not get too warm or it is a shock on the cooler. It's madness--especially like last weekend when we also did flowers for two very special weddings. (Extra stress because the weddings involved Sam and Carey so they were not at Bindweed.) So please forgive that lack of an entry last week and enjoy the photos of the weddings, they were lovely and I LOVED doing the flowers!
